The weather is warming up, the flowers are blooming and nature is coming to life. This is the perfect time to travel around Australia and enjoy all that spring has to offer. There are festivals filling up the calendar and wonderful outdoor experiences awaiting in every corner of the country.

FIND FLOWERS

Picture this. The air is crisp and you’re walking in the first of the many blooming flower fields this season. That’s right, the wildflowers are out and ready to put on a show of their beautiful array. If you're looking for a springtime celebration of all things floral, look no further than Floriade in Canberra. This event is one of the largest flower festivals in the world, and it's a must-see for anyone visiting Australia's capital city. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy during your visit, including concerts, food stalls, and even a market! And don't forget to check out the beautiful blooms on display. Whether you're a nature lover or just looking for something fun to do over the weekend, Floriade is definitely worth checking out. Open across September and October, Floriade returns with the sound of spring.

FIND HOT SPRINGS

Looking for a springtime escape that is both relaxing and refreshing? Look no further than the Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool. This natural wonder is located in the heart of the Snowy Mountains on the Thermal Pool Trail Yarrangobilly, a 5.5 hour drive from Sydney. It offers visitors a unique opportunity to soak in thermal waters with surroundings of blankets of snow. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast looking for some new activities to try, or you are simply looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate, the Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool is definitely worth visiting! It’s permanently heated at 27 degrees by a natural spring and measures around 20 metres long and 2.5 meters deep.

Alternatively, 90 minutes from Melbourne you’ll find Peninsula Hot Springs. An award- winning hot springs and day spa destination – it’s an idyllic setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Take advantage of the spring weather and soak in the atmosphere of the season.

FIND TRAILS

If you're looking for a springtime trek that will take your breath away, the Majestic Thorsborne Trail in Hinchinbrook Island National Park is a perfect choice. This challenging hike winds through lush rainforest and along rocky ridges with stunning views of the surrounding ocean and islands. And if you're lucky, you may even see some of the park's resident wildlife, including wallabies and koalas. Make sure to pack your camping gear – this hike is best done as an overnight trip!

Alternatively, find yourself in the Northern Territory, visit Uluru and do the Uluru base walk. Located in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, a living cultural landscape where earth and memories exist as one. During the months of May to September, the weather is cooler temperatures during the day. As well, the colours of the rock are usually more vibrant during this period. Get up close and personal with the rock and follow in the footsteps of the ancestral beings that shaped the landscape. The Uluru base walk is about 10 km of track that takes you around the whole circumference of the rock. You can take the entire Uluru base walk, or just concentrate on one or more of its sections, depending on how much time you have, your level of fitness and the weather.

FIND PARKS

One of the best ways to take advantage of the warmer weather is by visiting one of the many beautiful parks. The Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens are a stunning oasis of fauna and flora in the heart of the city. With more than 30,000 plants from all over the world on display, it's no wonder that visitors flock to these gardens year-round. The best time to visit is during spring, when the gardens come alive with new growth and colour. There are many activities and events that take place at the gardens throughout the year, so be sure to check out their website for more information!

So there you have it! These are just a few of the many great activities that you can do in Australia this spring. So get out there and enjoy the season! And don't forget, if you need any gear, be sure to check out Fjallraven's website for all your outdoor needs. Happy exploring!
