Vidda Pro Ventilated Trousers M Short

I bought the vidda pro trousers after a good experience purchasing the vardag trousers. I was looking for trousers to use around the house, in the garden and hiking in cooler weather. The G-1000 material is quality and it gives you confidence wearing what I consider an expensive pair of pants doing rough work. A couple of negatives, one being the length of the trousers. They run longer than the vardag. I bought both in the same length (short -78cm) and the vidda pro are longer and hence look a bit baggier which I'm not stoked about. There are buttons to tighten the end of the legs which are good, however the spacing of these buttons is poorly designed. One button will make it a tight fit but hard to take the pants on and off, the other leaves them to loose and the ends will drape down past the foot. The other design disappointment is the lack of a belt. The waist size runs a bit big. I'm a 32 and I need a belt for these pants. I can understand how other pants like the vardag dont have a belt embedded into them as you might use them more dressed up with a nicer belt. But the vidda pro are a workers/hikers trouser and even a basic belt designed into the trousers would go along way. Especially given the price tag. Other outback pants I've had, had this feature and it's very much appreciated. Some other minor details i.e. one of the pockets crossing the knee joint so if you place heavier/ bulkier items in it, your knee bend is restricted. All in all the quality justifies the price tag, and it can't be underestimated that you can have confidence these pants will hold up in very testing conditions, but for a quality brand like fjallraven I was a bit disappointed with aspects of the design, perhaps most notably the inconsistency in trouser length when compared to other fjallraven trousers. So I would suggest erring towards shorter seam length if you have the choice.
