5-6 hours active walking, 13.8km

We begin at 4:30 am sharp at the Fjällräven Queenstown Store, where we'll set out on our journey by 5:00 am. Together, we'll head to Te Anau, the gateway to the Kepler Track.

Our adventure starts along the edge of Lake Te Anau, the largest freshwater lake in Australasia, towards Brod Bay.

The first challenge arrives as we climb beneath towering limestone bluffs, gradually gaining altitude, until we are rewarded with panoramic views of the Te Anau basin.

5-6 hours active walking, 14.6km

If the weather is kind, we will be gifted with sweeping views of the south fiord of Lake Te Anau, stretching toward the Murchison Mountains.

As we descend slightly, we'll take in the changing landscape before reaching Iris Burn Hut, where we will mark off our second checkpoint.

5-6 hours active walking, 16.2km

Today, we embrace a shift in surroundings as we descend to Rocky Point, navigating past a large slip.

We journey through deep gorges, podocarp forests, and the lush beauty of Fiordland, ultimately arriving at the shores of Lake Manapouri. Here, we'll spend the night at our penultimate checkpoint, ready to savour the serenity of this untouched wilderness.

4-5.5 hours active walking, 15.5km

Our final day greets us with a tranquil walk through the forest, where we'll cross a pristine wetland via boardwalk, carefully protecting this delicate environment.

The track leads us back into the forest, where we'll follow the Waiau River terrace, reaching the iconic Swing Bridge at Rainbow Reach.

Continuing along the river, we'll arrive at our final checkpoint, where shuttle buses will await to take us back to Queenstown, completing our very first Fjällräven Discovery, New Zealand.
